Why join a CSA?
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) programs are one of the best ways to get top quality produce while ensuring the success of a thriving local farming system. Small organic and sustainable producers need to buy seeds, potting soil, and equipment in the winter months, but aren’t growing any thing to sell at those times. By purchasing a CSA membership upfront, you are ensuring that the farm can grow all season long, using methods that are good for the land and the eater. Members then enjoy the benefits in vegetables, herbs, and flowers in their weekly CSA shares.
Why join the Crooked Fence Farm CSA?
Crooked Fence Farm grows ‘field-to-belly’ food and our CSA is for home chefs and adventurous eaters. We tailor each CSA delivery with an eye towards using the produce in scrumptious recipes. We want you to enjoy fresh, sustainably grown food, and try it in new ways. Each week’s share will include two printed recipe cards to give you some ideas on how to use our produce. We also send a weekly newsletter and blog other cooking and recipe tips so you get the most out of yourshare. Our CSA also includes an optional flower supplement so you can enjoy a beautiful bouquet each week along with your food.
How do you decided what goes in each CSA box? |
We build our CSA boxes based on a few factors:
-What is fresh and bountiful in the field -What items cook/taste good together -Price of items and box size. See below for the $ we allocate to each item. |
