2022 Growing Season Positions


Field Crew Member - Full -Time
​
​The Position: Crooked Fence Farm seeks a full time field crew member for our 2022 growing season. We seek an applicant with an enthusiasm to work with new systems and sustainable and holistic farming methods.You will participate in all aspects of our farm but specialize in crop production . Tasks will include:
  • Field and bed preparation + transplanting
  • Weed management and cultivation
  • Harvest, washing, & packing of produce
  • ​Equipment use: Tractor using 3-point hitch implements, BCS walk behind tractor, weed whacker, flame weeder, and walk behind lawn mower. 
  • Daily livestock chores (on a rotating schedule)
  • Propagation
  • Flower harvest and bouquet design
  • Occasional farm deliveries
  • Other tasks related to our diversified farm production 
Details:
  • Full-time 40/hrs per week
  • Compensation: DOE 
  • Monday-Friday 
  • April 4th- October 28th 2022
  • Start times vary with the season, some evenings required​

Qualifications:
  • Punctual and reliable, must be able to wake up early
  • Be willing to work in all weather conditions
  • Be able to lift 50lbs reliably and repeatedly 
  • Detail-oriented, work well in teams, and eager to learn
  • At Least 1 full season of prior farming experience
Additional Benefits:
  • Produce from field as needed/available
  • End of season bonus of pasture raised pork and/or lamb
  • Additional farm training and learning opportunities - lessons on specific topics (soil science, composting, livestock, etc.); visits to other area farms; options for specialization in farm tasks

Delivery Driver - Part-Time

​The Position: Crooked Fence Farm seeks a part-time delivery driver for the 2022 growing season.
Details:
  • Part-time approx. 15/hrs per week
  • Compensation: $13/hr
  • May 10th- October 29th 2022
  • Weekly Schedule:
    • Tuesday 7am-10am (approx.)
    • Thursday 7am-3pm (approx.)
    • Saturday 7am-10am (approx.)
​Qualifications:
  • Punctual and reliable, must be able to wake up early
  • Be willing to work in all weather conditions
  • Be able to lift 50lbs reliably and repeatedly 
  • Detail-oriented, work well in teams, and eager to learn
  • At Least 1 full season of prior farming experience
  • A clean driving record

​Additional Benefits:
  • Produce from field as needed/available
  • End of season bonus of pasture raised pork and/or lamb
  • Potential for additional hours during high season, if desired
